" May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus." Romans 15:5
On October 28 , 2009 I got a phone call from Mark, it started like this...
Mark: Hey hon, are you in town?
Me: Yes, am headed to pick some things up at Fry's, why??
Mark: Am at Urgent care to see if I have a sprained ankle or if I broke it?
Me: WHAT!
Mark:Don't worry I think am fine Richardo is with me I'll call you later.
An hour later........
Mark: Hey Hon, can you meet me at the yard ( SSVEC ) to pick me up. Pat is driving my truck home, oh I did break my ankle in 2 places!
Me: WHAT!!!
Mark: Don't worry I'll have it check out tomorrow.
The next day we drove to Tucson to have it looked at at Tucson Orthopedic. Yes he had broke it in 2 places and 2 weeks later came out of surgery with 9 screws and a plate.
Mark was off work at home from 5 weeks and then onto light duty. We were blessed by friend who called to check on him during the day when I was at work. Made him lunch and stopped by to make sure that he didn't need anything. This was so hard for Mark in so many ways. He was having to let me serve him and others. He's love language is the gift of service and he was having to set and watch. Hunting season came and he went with crutches and a cast. We had a ski trip planned and Mark had to set and take great pictures!
Having to slow down is a hard thing to do. Having to trust that God is going to take care of everything is even harder. Mark and I have had to trust the Lord in many ways over our 16 years of marriage. This was a learning experience and we did learn! I praise God that he is OK, so many other things could have happen to him. He does work with power! Then Lord takes care of us always.
Today was a big day...Mark put on his line boots! I love my husband! Very much!
